Have You Met My Little Friend?

Goo Gone.  It's simply the best.

For anyone who's ever tried to clean the icky glue and paper off of used mason jars, it's quite the task.  Enter: Goo Gone.  I tried it today on a few of the jars and it just rubs right off!  Now I have a whole box of jars waiting for their turn to go through the most effective wash they'll ever have.  Amazing.

In other news, the florist has been booked and the Chuppah has been rented!  Phew, last vendor done.  I've been slacking on the wedding planning lately because moving into a new house can be quite time consuming.  The good news is that we finally have a kitchen table and all of the blinds are hung!  Yippee!!!  No housewarming party date has been set because there is still so much to do and I'm scared of committing to a date.  We'll get there... eventually.

We're off to Vegas for the weekend!!  Might just get this wedding over with a bit quicker than expected...  JUST KIDDING!  Do I really seem like the type to forgo a formal affair?!

Home Ownership...

... involves a lot of trips to Home Depot.
... requires a lot of new tools.
... means a new roof, new windows and cement work on the driveway.
... requires teaching a stubborn dog to use a new style dog door.
... means mommy comes to visit (!!!!!!).
... involves a lot of trips to fun design stores (Pier 1, The Great Indoors, Crate & Barrel, etc.) when we can only dream.
... puts a cramp on my blogging style.

As I sit here on my dog-hair covered couch, with my mom taking a nap next to me and Pugsley trying to crawl onto her lap, looking at my new house with missing furniture and leaking windows, all I can think about is how thankful I am.  Thankful to have this space to call my own.  Thankful to have someone to share it with.  Thankful to have family to support me.  Thankful for this furry creature that believes he should sit on someones lap at all times.

Now that the mushy stuff is over with, here's your wedding update!

My mom and I worked through the florist proposals and, while we have a leading contender, we aren't sold on her yet.  Flowers are just so expensive!  We are also considering the option of renting a Chuppah rather than the original plan of the Groom making one (his idea, I promise).  So the flowers are still t.b.d.  But I am still collecting jars!  Please keep saving your clear mason jars because I still need about 30 more and I just can't eat spaghetti and peanut butter that quickly!

We're going to spend the weekend shopping for house stuff and visiting with my aunt and grandmother... and eating... and enjoying our lunch beverages :)

Happy Friday!

What Do You Mean It's Only WEDNESDAY?!

Do you ever have those weeks where you wonder what exactly is going on around you?  Like you missed something ...  or slept through something...  yeah, I'm having one of those weeks right now.  It should definitely be the weekend by now but because it's not, I shall blog.

Here's how my week has been so far:

Monday = Migraine
Tuesday = Torture
Wednesday = Wedding!

(Notice a theme?)  The good news from this week is that I met with a florist today and it was so.much.fun. We talked colors and themes and romantic ideas and flowers and flowering branches and does the Rabbi really need a boutonniere?!  I am getting a formal proposal in the next week and cannot wait to see the ideas she came up with.  But let's talk about something first.

Did you know...

... that Billy Balls don't come in any other color besides yellow?

They're only one of the coolest flowers ever.  What is genetic engineering good for?!

The good news is that all those mason jars that I've been collecting are about to come in really handy so don't stop eating your spaghetti sauce!

Week Outlook:

Thursday = Travel (meeting with a friend to compare Costa Rica travel notes)
Friday = Fun (need I explain myself?)

Side note: I talked to our Rabbi today - just to check-in - and mentioned that I was meeting with a florist. He then began to give me advice on flowers.  Thanks, Rabbi Buz.

Side side note: I found a pretty BM dress that I thought was cute and one of the BMs told me that it looks like Tinkerbell.  To torture or not to torture...
